Soil microfauna – plant
Soil microfauna are tiny animals, almost invisible to the naked eye, that live in the soil, particularly in humus. They play an important role in the decomposition and recycling of organic matter. Measuring less than 0.2 mm in size, their study requires the use of a microscope or magnifying glass.
For studying soil microfauna in the classroom, Bégénat offers several observation kits:
A forest and cultivated field microfauna observation kit
A complete microfauna extraction kit, also available as a mini kit
An observation kit for roots and earthworms
Microscopic slides of mites and various insects
Fresh moss for extracting soil microfauna
Nets for plankton, fish, butterflies, and the aquatic bottom
